Craigavon Youth

Situated in Highfields Craigavon, the Drop Inn Youth Centre is ideally placed to attract young people from the whole of Craigavon and even wider afield.

With good facilities to cater for today’s Youth, including an indoor sports hall, meeting room, cafe and games room the Centre is in constant use.

Although the facility is called Craigavon Youth Centre, it is now being used by the ’older folks’ too…and during the day and particularly Monday evenings you will not only see people who you would certainly not describe as ‘Youth’ and you will hear voices that are certainly not for Northern Ireland.

Ian Ligget the Centre Manager, has encouraged the Youth to be actively involved in Community Projects in Craigavon and at the same time has been encouraging the Community to come in and not only see for themselves but use the facilities if they can.

Two projects have developed from this…A Morning get together for those suffering from Addictions and the second which is proving to be very successful and necessary, a Monday Night when a group of people, numbering around 35/40 meeting to enjoy friendship and exchange experiences.  These are people who have come to Northern Ireland from various countries such as Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Portugal to name a few. They travel from as far away as Armagh and have really come to enjoy and value these evenings. Ian’s vision is to support these people as they live and work amongst the Northern Ireland people and help new arrivals integrate into Communities. He hopes to be able to expand this Project by introducing Cross-Cultural Meetings and events next year.

Craigavon Centre is also the home of our Craigavon Charity Shop, so you can just imagine that is a place of great diverse activity every single day, from which Drop Inn Ministries brings Hope. Help and Healing to everyone from children to pensioners and from who were born here or those who find themselves here seeking a better life…And of course it that REAL BETTER LIFE that we are privileged to share with them.

Mondays from 6pm to 9pm

Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm to 9pm
