Drop Inn :: Youth Outreach

Drop Inn Ministries is greatly involved with young people and our work revolves around the 'Drop Inn Centre' for youth in Richhill, Co. Armagh, plus the summer youth camps in Eastern Europe.

We have good facilities for young people who wish to join in with us and meet others in a friendly, fun environment.

Usual meetings are on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday nights. A bus is available to bring people to / from our Youth Centre, running from Craigavon & Portadown.

Our youth outreach (and ultimately Drop Inn Ministries) began in 1994, when director Ronnie Dawson became concerned about the increase in drug and alcohol abuse in the local village of Richhill.

A youth centre was opened to bring young people in off the streets and provide a place where they could relax in a comfortable environment and build friendships with local Christian young people.

Within a year we began to see the first fruits of our outreach, however for a time the outreach went through a 'dry' period, leaders were hard to come by, and the outreach suffered. Ironically at the same time our Youth Missions outreach through the summer camps were advancing greatly and following the summer trip of 2002 several young people from the local area re-opened the doors, re-furbished the youth club and committed themselves to the youth outreach, opening every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night. The youth progamme is now progressing and going well.

Towards the end of 2004, Drop Inn took on a new project to build a youth centre on the premises of the Stonebridge thrift shop. The new centre is equipped with:

• Arcade Games • Air Hockey • Table Tennis •
2 Pool Tables • Playstation 2 • Cafe Bar

All young people are welcome and can expect warm, fun fellowship. We have plenty of activities, from volleyball to music / dance etc. contact us for more info.

Since 2000 Drop Inn Ministries have been organising summer youth camps in Eastern Europe, and with each year the numbers and interest has grown. Many young people from different churches and backgrounds coming together to enjoy fellowship, teaching and the practical side of sharing their faith.
