Supported Projects
- Shantee Town Youth Outreach Programmes

Our support programme into the country of Brazil began in May 2005. As a result of a meeting in Northern Ireland the previous year with Noel and Sandra Quinlin, who are the directors of Latin American Ministries.

Ronnie and Carolyn Dawson made the first visit to Brazil to meet with them and see first hand the work that they are incolved in. Our initial plan was to support a Pastor who was going to start a new work in the Amazon to reach the tribes there. Because of new laws in Brazil to protect the identity and traditions of the Indian people in the Amazon, missionaries are no longer allowed to go in and so it is the vision of one Indian man to train and send Indians in to reach their own people with the gospel.

It was a blesssing for us to meet Eli and to hear his vision and get some more details about the Pastor we are supporting, and to hear about another Pastor who we will also support in the Amazon. Together with another Pastor we met during our time there we are now supporting 3 Pastors in Brazil.

As well as the Pastor support programme, we have promised to send regular support to 2 teachers in the Amazon and also to help a Youth Music Group in one of the churches that we visited in a Shantee Town in Rio. In another Shanty area in Rio, we visited a Drop Inn Centre for young people with no hope or future and were so blessed by the vision of the leaders that we are now sending regular financial support to them as well.
